Marketing for (Saffron) Farmers: introduction on how to Plan a Successful Product.

You can find tons of Marketing books out there.

What I want to bring you is a different practical approach based on my personal experience as Saffron farmer/producer and Marketing and Sales consultant.

In the most effective and quick way I can.

The IMPERATIVE advice is to follow my suggests WRITING EVERYTHING.
It's absolutely necessary to write what you think, otherwise exercises could lose main part of their power.

This article could seem "abstract" or "theoretic" at first sight.
Indeed, when you'll go further in the subsequent articles, this work you're doing will be not only fundamental but also really useful.

I'm going to ask you questions. Questions are necessary to make you see WHO YOU ARE and WHERE TO GO.

Many company fails in not establishing clearly 2 things:
MISSION: "Why we are doing what we are doing"
VISION: "Where are we going to go"

If you don't know who you are, you can't go anywhere.
And you have absolutely to explain this to your customers.

I think you'd never marry a woman/man if you don't know who is really and what she/he really wants to do in the future!

Your customers think in the same way.

They'll never buy from you if they don't know who you are.

So let's start with the questions.

1-Who am I? My Values

In what do I believe?
In what do I trust?
I'm not talking about religion or football team.

You're a farmer, so...
I'm doing some examples that suits me fine.

I believe in:
enviroment protection, in paying the right price to farmers, in the equilibrium of nature, in the high quality of products, in the customer relation care, in the efficiency of the work despite the amount of non-planned work, in the planning with the right amount of improvisation...and so on.

Write your own. Nothing is wrong. Write what do you think suits fine to you.

2-What am I doing now? This relates to WORK+PRESENT time

What's my job?
What type of product do I do?
What type of service to customer do I offer?
What is different between me and others that do what I do?

AGAIN: Write your own. Nothing is wrong. Write what do you think suits fine ti you.

Your answer:_________________________________

3-What do I know? This relates to KNOWLEDGE+PRESENT time

What are my skills? I'm talking not only of job skill...for example "I'm good in relation with children", "I'm a good listener of people/customer problems", " I'm good at searching on web all new trends in my busness area" and so on.

Remember: Successful people are those able to develop a single talent and elevate it to the highest level.

What do you think you're good at?
What do you do in a satisfacting way for other people?

AGAIN: Write your own. Nothing is wrong. Write what do you think suits fine to you.

Your answer:_________________________________

4-What do I like? This relates to WORK+FUTURE time.

What are my plans for future?
If you haven't planned anything: if you think about yourself in the future, how do you see yourself?
What am I doing if I think about myself in 2 years? And in 5 years? And in 10 years?

This answer can be also a project, an idea, a dream.

AGAIN: Write your own. Nothing is wrong. Write what do you think suits fine to you.

Your answer:_________________________________

5-What Can I learn? This relates to KNOWLEDGE+FUTURE time.

What can I develop in order to be better than today?
How can I improve?
What disciplines I think I need to study (more)?
Taking areas of my business that need to change, to improve, to be modernized, and so on, what can I learn to do this?

Your answer:_________________________________

To SUMMARIZE:

The 5 Questions above are the foundation to approach the next article correctly and with high efficiency.

In the next article I'll explain how to TAKE YOUR CURRENT PRODUCT/SERVICE and help you to make it Successful.

Is it easy? It depends. It depends on how you have deeply worked on yourself about your MISSION and your VISION we've talked about.

Feel free to ask me questions. You're welcome.

See  you soon,
Andrea
